Over the past five decades, Jim has compiled a collection of personal guiding principles. He calls them Jim's Golden Rules. Some were established when he was a teen and have continually been a part of his thinking and daily life. Others have found their way onto the list after life experiences - some good and some not so good. They can work for anyone, of any age. Maybe they'll work for you.

One need not adhere to all these golden rules to be a good person. They're not commandments. They're more like advice or suggestions. Your interpretation may be different. One thing for sure though; you must be a good person in order to be a good mentor. No exceptions.
Jim added two additional sections, as living by Jim's Golden Rules would likely make you a good person but not necessarily a good mentor. Mentoring 101 covers some mentoring basics, while Pupas & Butterflies focuses on mentoring young people.
